38/66 (72.5) KV Single core cable with copper Conductor, XLPE insulated copper screen and HDPE sheath.

                                                  System voltage.

*38/66 kv System voltage :
    - The working voltage is 66 KV between phases at 50C/S
    - The rated voltage between conductor and core screen 38 kv (U0)
    - Rated voltage 66 KV (U)
    - Highest Voltage 72.5 Kv  ( Um)
    - Impulse level for cable 325 KV(Up).
    - Power frequency withstand  voltage 95 KV for /30 min.

* 76/132 kv System voltage
    - The working voltage is 132 KV between phases at 50C/S
    - The rated voltage between conductor and core screen 76 kv (U0)
    - Rated voltage 76 KV (U)
    - Highest Voltage 145 KV  ( Um)
    - Impulse level for cable 650 KV(Up).
    - Power frequency withstand  voltage 195 KV for /30min.

* short circuit current
- In the Egyptian electricity utility specification EUS the max. symmetrical short circuit level at the cable location is 31.5 K.A (r.m.s) for duration of one second. The metallic shield withstand  the three phase symmetrical short circuit for one sec .
- The metallic shield are designed to meet requirements of the customer in the   local or intentional market . The metallic shield may be copper or lead screen.

 * Method of laying
Method of laying  of cable is trefoil formation or flat formation. The  pulling of cable during erection by means of pulling eye using winch or labour M/C.

* Cable Drums
-The cable is wound on stout wood or iron drums of suitable
  dimensions  depending on cable cross sectional area and cutting    
* length
- The Cable on each drum is equipped with end water tight cap on  one end and a pulling eye on the other end.
 - Information is printed in the two sides of each drum.  
* Cable identification
- Information is clearly marked by ink jet on the whole length of cable every one meter by the following
- Rated voltage    KV - conductor cross section in    sq mm,  manufacturing year, length indication and ….. etc.

  1. Description:
    Circular stranded compacted copper conductor , super clean XLPE triple extrusion dry curing , copper or lead screen and polyethylene over sheath.
  2. Construction:
    - Conductor .
    ● Circular stranded compacted soft annealed plain copper which meet all physical requirement of IEC 60228.class 2 .
    ● The conductor have longitudinal and radial water tightness as swellin-g powder and or semi conductive water blocking tape.
    ● Beg sizes of conductors are constructed from equal segments ( milliken).
    - Conductor shield :
    Extruded  semi-conductive thermosetting compound compatible with the insulation.

  3.  Insulation :
    Extruded, super clean, highly homogeneous cross linked polyethylene insulation.

  4.  Non-metallic shield :
    ●    Insulation shield: Extruded semi conductive thermosetting compound compatible with the insulation.
    ●  Semi conductive swelling tape over the insulation shield to assure longitudinal water tightness .

  5.  Metallic shield :
    Metallic screen copper or lead screen as per customer order .
    ●  Copper wires and / or copper tapes with suitable sizes to withstand short circuit fault current.
    ● A moisture impervious continuous lead or lead alloy sheath with suitable thickness.

    Water sealing :
    Water blocking swelling tape may be applied helically over the metallic screen if required and also metal aluminium foil with  laminated polyethylene is applied longitudinal for radial water sealing in case copper screen if required .

  6. over sheath :
    Extruded sheath , thermoplastic , halogen free- may be  LLDPE , MDPE ,HDPE suitable for ozone ,heat, durable, and moisture resistant also protected against sunlight  semi conductive layer extruded or graphite coating over the sheath . The sheath capable of withstanding 25kV  DC for one min when tested.

    All tests will be carried out acc to IEC 60228 ,  60502-2 , 60229, 60840, 60811.
